This are 3d printed split molds. These are in no way a replacement for lifetime molds like aluminum molds. These are entry level molds for the new holster maker that wants to see what vacuum forming is all about or for the hobbyist that doesn't plan on running 50 presses back to back.
I personally scan the real firearm setup and then import it into a cad program and model these myself. Retention on these is how we like them and it may not work for everyone and their mold methods so, you may need to tweak your method a little.
These are made out of PETG filament with a high infil and a supportive infil design. These mold must be lined with aluminum tape or the heat flash from the kydex can round some edges depending on how hot you run your dex.
We have over 50 presses on one of these and the last pull was just as good as the first pull. They need sufficient cool time between presses and I can not stress enough regarding the ALUMINUM tape. Not duct tape or basic hvac tape. We line ours with 2 layers of tape.
They also have the dimples in the back to work with the MM base or (like I have) the original Conrad metal base. They also have the vacuum holes built into the design.
